Giving and getting,
Belmont Kidz is a community-driven family enrichment center dedicated to offering an alternative to traditional education emphasizing sustainable, holistic, and mindful living.
The store originally opened in 2009 as a children’s consignment store and was brought under new ownership in 2016 by Qiana Jones, a Long Beach-based entrepreneur who took up the mission of revamping a unique resource for the families of Long Beach. With a fresh new energy, Belmont Kidz grew in its community outreach to include creative enrichment classes for children.
Qiana and her husband, Hernan, took the idea of helping local families to heart. Putting a fresh spin on the business, the couple began to offer family-oriented sessions, such as breastfeeding support groups, free weekly puppet shows, and storytelling.
In recent years, the store has evolved into a thriving creative community center where events from book launches, art classes, to dance parties occur, the ideas don’t stop there as consignment owner Qiana Jones never settles in one spot and is constantly hungry for new creative ideas to transform her business.
